MIRADAS SOBRE LA MESA VERDE
This installation has been conceived explicitly by Olga de Soto for NAVE, a residence and creation space in Santiago de Chile, located in an old patrimonial house built at the beginning of the 20th century in the Yungay district and transformed by the architect Smiljan Radic. The audio-visual installation proposed by Olga de Soto consists of various works that unfold in the space, thanks to a rhizomatic device that extends from the vast entrance hall to the even larger space of the Sala Negra of NAVE (750 m2). Thus, the artist echoes Radic's "emptying operation "in his building transformation project. Olga transforms the representation space by emptying it of its rows of seats and its stage to give shape to a labyrinthine territory composed of ephemeral spaces, corridors and recesses, plunged in the dark.
The voices resonate with the bodies, the gestures and the glances filmed, while the images question the traces left by the impact of the work and its emotional, political and social charge of great intensity.
Individual installation based on the performance Débords and prensented in NAVE, Santiago de Chile, in collaboration with the Goethe Institut of Santiago de Chile (CL) and Tanzfonds Erbe project (DE).
